A native of the Greater Los Angeles Area, Alex Horwitch achieved his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations from the School of Journalism and Communications at the University of Oregon in 2012. He has worked in athletics and entertainment, serving NBC's "The Voice," Major League Baseball, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the University of Oregon. Alex has experience as a Social Media adminstrator and moderator.

McNulty Casting

Talent Producer for the Emmy Award winning competition-reality show “The Voice” (NBC) and Casting Associate for season four of the competition-reality show “The Sing-Off” (NBC). Researched, contacted, and booked acts for auditions. Managed social media accounts for The Voice Casting (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat), providing updates, registration information, and answering questions for those looking to audition. Conducted one-on-one casting interviews with potential contestants, and operated camera during auditions.

 

 

WWA Advisors, LLC

Contracted by the global advising firm as a consultant to rebrand their social media accounts. Wrote and delivered a social media plan, which included stronger presence on Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn, as well as the implementation of a blog.

 

 

University of Oregon Athletic Department

Quack Cave, Social Media Intern

Monitored the Oregon Ducks brand on various social media platforms in the "Quack Cave," the Oregon Ducks Social Media Command Center. Interacted with fans, media, players, and coaches on a national and international scale to perpetuate and grow the visibility of Oregon athletics. Platforms include: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and Postano. Other assignments included live-tweeting Oregon football games and the taping of ESPN College Game Day. Appeared weekly during football season on the radio show "Ducks Insider with Jerry Allen" (95.3 KUJZ, Eugene, OR), providing the social media recap of the previous week's Oregon football game.

 

 

Oregon Pit Crew

President and Public Relations/Social Media Director for the largest student group at the University of Oregon. Worked with the Athletic Department and Nike on a number of projects to assure a successful opening of the new Matthew Knight Arena. Helped promote Men’s/Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Women’s Volleyball and successfully increased student numbers in attendance for each spot. Created, planned, and marketed the first Midnight Madness (“Matt Knight Madness”) event at the UO. Helped promote Men’s/Women’s Basketball, Baseball, Women’s Volleyball and successfully increased student numbers in attendance for each spot. Worked with Nike (Todd Van Horne, Tinker Hatfield, Michael Doherty) on re-branding the Pit Crew and expansion to include all UO athletics.

 

 

On The Rocks

Performer, President, Public Relations Director, and Tour Manager 

University of Oregon’s premiere all-male a’cappella group. Helped oversee the overall business of the group. Interacted with NBC-Universal, Sony, and A'Cappella Records, among others. Successfully coordinated campaigns for release of 3 CDs. Promoted the group’s national television appearance on NBC’s “The Sing-Off.” Booked shows and created itineraries for the group’s 2011 California Tour and 2012 Mid-West Tour, including concert at House of Blues Chicago with Boyz II Men. Group administrator for social media (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube) accounts, accumulating over 4,000 Twitter followers, over 21,000 Facebook “Likes,” and over 4,000 YouTube subscribers.
